Magic says...

...safety ALWAYS comes first!

I'm not sure she is all that amused by it!

I'm home sick today, feeling alot better now than I was
this morning, but still not 100%, will finish judging the CM/AR classes
tonight and post the results tomorrow.

More backups

Yup, I forgot to get the cardreader off mum, and she didn't put it back
so I am posting more pics I found the other day! I really must get my
own reader...then she can't steal it!!
So today's pictures are a random bit of fun I had awhile ago...before
Magic was clipped also, so probably around September-ish before the
shows had started. Every once in awhile I see the wee pony pad sitting
on the rack with the other saddles so I drag it out and chuck it on
Magic....not that it fits!! Which almost reminds me of a of post on Jen
Buxton's blog, things work better when they fit!! Just this is the opposite problem, the horse is too small this time!! Although she isn't that much too small!

So
anyway, Mr. Bunny, who I think is called Caramel (I won it when I was
about 4, the rabbit was almost bigger than me!!!) was just itching to
go for a ride, and sitting on a saddle on the rack just wasn't enough.

Now that is MUCH better!

I'm not all that sure that
Magic was that pleased about having an oversized rabbit sitting on her
back!! Good thing she is well behaved or bunny would have gone
toppling!! And don't take any notice of bunny, no shoes and no helmet
makes bunny a rather bad role model!!

Bloody mum again...!

I had a post lined up for today, I took pictures and everything of the
barrels I have been working on and the CM I just finished the other
day...go to put the pictures on the computer, and, voila, no card
reader!!! But not to worry, I was looking through some pictures I took
ages ago with the intention of posting them here, but as you can see I
never got round to it!!
Today's pictures are a couple months old, when Magic was just clipped
for the shows. So I had the bright idea of plaiting her mane and
turning her into a show horse!! It started off good, then, a discovery
was made, thick/long mane does not roll up into very nice bobble
plaits!! So I didn't even bother rolling up more than about 3 before
unrolling them again!

See what I mean, it started off nice!

And then of course she just HAD to have the grass under my feet!

Phew,
that's the first lot of Magic pictures up! Tomorrow will be my barrels
and CM and I will save the rest of my unposted pictures for another day
:)

Nelson A&P: 5 of 5

Well, last post from Nelson A&P 2011! Finally! I'm really not in
the right sort of mood to make a decent post today. Let's just say I
found out something yesterday that really destroyed my summer holidays.
Long story short it is near impossible for me to get a real horse now
to ride. Though mum told me yesterday she was thinking about swapping
her harness pony for a 14hh riding pony gelding...it confused me a bit,
why would you swap a horse for a horse when we could get Pandora for
nothing from her boss?! But, if she wants to do that, I'm not
complaining...the mini's will be gone soon, we have our last show
before christmas next weekend, then wee Magic will be going in foal
(exciting!!!) and mum's mini will quite possibly be doing the same. No
mini's means grass can grow for big horse!
Enough of my whining, here is Moutere Valley's Moonshine, or Moonie I
think they call her. She is Magic's sister, same mother. I was quite
annoyed when I saw her pictures as a foal, she is pinto, the next foal
out of Dusty (Magic's mother) after Magic and she is pinto!! They both
have pinto sires, yet Magic is just black, not a speck of white.....oh
welll, I love her all the same :)

Sorry about the bad photography there!!! I did not think to go round the other side where the sun would be on her!!!

And now I need to go check the
mail...and lunge the horses!! I'll leave you with one thing, if you
have not seen the movie Secretariat, do! It's fantastic!! I loved it!!!

First show of the season...

...and it had it's ups and downs..Magic came away with Champion
Youngstock, it was a lovely sunny day with a slight breeze to keep the
heat away, however, they had the jumping on when we got there, the RTR
finished as we started but they had SJ running all the way through, so
there was a few pangs of sadness at the thought that at one stage it
was me out there on Millie, and sadness at the fact I haven't even been
on a horse for a month and a half let alone jumped... But i took some
lovely pics, and all in all, it was a good day out!
We'll start with Magic, my little brother took her in the youth Best
Presented...
little blighter went and beat me didn't he!!! see that smile on his face!!!
then
there was the jumpers...loved this horse!! think the pole dropped on
this jump...did that quite a bit, must have been a hard one to jump!

and
then the RTR finished and sidesaddle came out, this horse was my
favourite, look at the scrummy colour!! I would LOVE to have a model
this colour!

Magic with her champion youngstock sash...

I
like this pic, even though it is my little brother leading her, her
pose reminds me of Little Lonestar...maybe he's not so bad after all
(Lonestar I mean, not Bayley!!)
of course there were horses that played up...

just LOVED this lady's outfit!!! it looked amazing with her horse!!
what would that be, 1m something?? that's what they were doing as we finished up...

Sorry,
we didn't manage to get a pic of the mini jumping...both me and mum
were in it and quite frankly, Bayley is hopeless!!!
In other news, my horses are on their way home, they should be here
about Wednesday-ish, so more pics when they get here, and then we are
going down to Christchurch for another show/training clinic next
weekend with Wayne Hipsley. So alot is going on round here!
Oh, and I started on a SM scale saddle...not sure how that will turn
out!

Fun Day Sunday

un Day, yea, Sunday, yea, Sun, no. Rain, the whole day!!! But yea, it
was fun!! we had lots of different events, barle racing (yes, we had to
run with the horses!!! no easy way out this time!!) sack races, msical
sacks, obstacle etc..
But
because of the rain (and the fact the batteries went dead in the
camera) i only have pics from the Fancy Dress class to show, which mum
took....

we had farmers and their cows...

we had pirates (and parrots!!)

we also had a bumble bee and a flower!

annd then there was the clowns (aka, me and Magic!!)

here we are all together..

and this was in the tack shed...i love the embossing on the plate!!and
there was a western saddle i was eyeing up too...couldn't resist a pic
of the tooling...not very amazing, but very simple and nice to look at..

More Horses

More SMs for the...umm...horde!! I have been a bit naughty
recently....I made myself a PayPal and have
been itching to test it out...I put a couple of ads up on MH$P and the
first response was from a lady in NZ...the same country as me...I ended
up buying the horses she offered me and just paid via internet
banking..it was easier for both of us...so these guys are in the post
to me:

and once I pay for ths one, it'll be coming home, this is the one to test out my new PayPal!!

One
of the G2 Shetlands will become a portrait of my miniature filly -
Magic....with a bit of CMing that is...firstly a haircut!!! then a bit
of retraining to bring the head down!! *eyes up the handsaw*
