New Old DAH

I bought my first Stone DAH awhile back and he arrived last week.

He isn't a new horse, he's from 2012, I'm not sure who designed him as I didn't buy him from his original owner. But he's pretty cute, I rather like this mold, or rather, this version. I don't like the braided version at all, to me the neck looks too scrawny. But this bushy mane/tail version is lovely.

He has the old eyes aswell, the nice detailed ones that they don't seem to do anymore, which is a shame as these ones are really lovely!

He fits my saddle I made ages ago too! This saddle was originally made for my ISH but it was slightly small even for her, as you can see its not even finished yet, I really must make a girth for it...

He's bigger than I thought he would be too, here he is next to my ISH, I will get out my Breyer Pippin body tomorrow and see how they compare size wise.

My New Herd Members

My two new boys arrived, and I think they will be the last for awhile,
not that I've had that many newbies recently anyway! I took some
pictures of them, but they're not very good, I haven't had time to get
them out this weekend either to take decent pics. But, here they are
anyway.
This one was more of a 'spur of the moment' buy, but I'm pleased I got
him! He's the 2007 JCPenney Spanish Horse Family Andalusian, he's more
of a bay roan than the light bay they say he is on the Identify Your Breyer website.
I just LOVE his face!! The blaze is just lovely! Though the picture does it no justice what-so-ever!
I really quite like this mold, it's so much nicer than it looked to me in pictures.

And then there is this boy, one of the Treasure Hunt Silver's from
2007. He is really quite lovely in person, again, the photo's are
really bad!!
And he looks really neat in western!! I think I need a smaller saddle to fit him better though, but the idea is there!

Slightly Disappointed

Something good to the end of a rather bad day. Mum came home with the
horses I got my Nan to buy for me off eBay. These two little guys I
planned on repainting, but the one on the left I may leave OF, her
(yep, no parts!!) colour is quite nice, the other one however, has a
few marks, she he'll be given new clothes at some stage.

And just for the fun of it, and because there was a whole conversation on teeny tiny herds on MECA, this is my current MM herd.
Left to right - BM Minuet (CM), 2 bodies, new nameless OF, Latte (OF) and the other new nameless guy.

This is the disappointment in them all,
I got his guy because he looked so darn neat in the pic, and he does in
this pic as well.
The worst thing, is this, his symmetrical appy pattern.
Poor guy is (just a little bit) splay footed.

And I don't really like the glossy finish he has. Along with his blobby
hooves, my other Chips boy has way way more hoof definition than this
one. Oh well, maybe he will grow on me, if not, I'll attack him with
some paint or the craft knife and make his pattern a bit more
realistic.
He does have a cut face though, I'll give him that!

Sparky

Here she is with a fixed up leg, Sparky!! Named after her first owner
on Facebook. These pics show her colour as being quite rich and strong,
she is quite a bit duller in real life, more like the colour just below
her cheek bone, but all over.
I think I need a different 'wall', her legs get lost in the darkness of this one!! At least you can't see where the break was!!

And a little headstudy picture...as you can see I'm not quite
finished mucking around with her, that nose rub needs fixing and she
has a few little marks over her body that I should be able to get off
without too much drama, along with another wee spot on her shoulder on
the other side.

G1 Morgan

I swear I had a post lined up for today, but for the life of me I can't
remember what it was!!! Going through my folders trying to figure out
what it was I found the pics I took of this wee guy. He is the G1
Morgan I got in my MECA Secret Santa, I took him out for some photo's the other day with Wolf,
I think they turned out pretty good, other than the first one looking a
bit 'downhill'...or is that just me??
Not sure what to call this guy, he may end up just being one of those
'shelf pieces' who never ends up getting a name and being shown!!
Isn't he cute??!
The last few days I have been working on
a wee SM English saddle I started a month or more ago...it is almost
done, just needs a seat cover, panels and stirrups, then a girth made
for it and matching bridle...for my first SM saddle I think it is
working out pretty good! Much better than my previous/first attempt at
a saddle, and that was meant to be Traditional size!!! So I will try
and get some decent pics of that for tomorrow :)
Ahh! I just remembered what my post was going to be..oh well, it
included this guy anyway!

Barrels and Palomino Sparklers

This wee guy finally arrived!! Yay, I can cross another off my wishlist
now!! This wee man has been nicknamed 'Wolf' for now...If you look
closely he has glittery sparkles on his face, they are rather hard to
see in these photos but I swear they are there!! Jokingly his previous
owner said he was a vampire, so I suggested he need a name with 'wolf'
in it to counteract the thought, but his face sparkles in the light,
and it doesn't photograph well, who could blame her!!
But anyway, here he is!! Name suggestions welcome, he doesn't have a
show name yet :)

Cna you see his sparkles??!

And this was just a random fun one I took.

And
as promised, here is a pic of the barrels I have been making, these are
the first two and I am now up to four of them, with another four
waiting to have their labels taken off and painted.

I think they are a good size for the traditionals. And with one end
open they can be used for flag races as well as other races with things
on top of them...or barrel racing or nothing to do with racing...can't
wait to use them in setups!!!

Adding to the conga

The conga of G3 Ponies that is! I LOVE this mold, not 100% sure why,
maybe it's because I have always had ponies in real life, but anyway, I
added to my conga today (which now stands at 3 OF, 1 CM). A lovely bay
Pony Gals pony arrived home.

Photo Shoot #2: CB

CB being short for Cleveland Bay, aka, Journeyman, or as he is identified in the shows: Southbound Warrior.

CB, meet Magic!

I'm not sure which picture I like the best, the one in the sun, or the one without the sun...

Darn you stupid buttercup!!!

Love this horse!! The first thing mum
said when she saw him was 'You'll have to make a cart for it'!! And I
think I will!! he'd look so good pulling one!! I found some leather to
make him a harness, so that's a start!

This isn't working

Remember the rider doll i got last week? And how she had to learn
western as I don't have an english tack set? yea, well, her converting
to western isn't going too good! I'm not sure she understands that you hold the reins differently when riding western! So she went back to some form of english and has started riding CB bareback. And
I got back from a trip to Christchurch yesterday, so there will be lots
of pics from that to come!! Apparently there was an earthquake while we
were down there, but it happened during the night (about 1am) and I
slept through it...

Homecoming

Waiting for the postie when your at home specifically waiting seems to
take twice as long for him to arrive!!!! But this time the wait was
worth it!! My horses arrivedehom today, in a box that could nearly have
held a real horse saddle!
Here's Sunny (a Breyer Traditional) showing just how big the box is..
The first I saw (once i got all the peanut things out of the way!) was Electra...
she is lovely, and her tack is just amazing!!! Definitely more pics of that to come!!
Next
to come out was Journeyman...he's so big!!! Mum doesn't know about him
yet, he's going to be rather hard to hide!!! na, I will show him to her
tonight when I "remember" about him!! I didn't get a pic of just him in
his whole body (goodness knows why!!) but I think you all know what he
looks like, but look at his dapples!!! They're so yummy!!

and then I found this surprise, tucked up behind Journeyman....this
girl is my first rider, and after reading Jennifer Buxton's articles on making dolls' boots,
I think I will revamp this one, make her some better fitting clothes
and some boots, she looks so...I don't know, untidy?? the way she
is..but either way, at the moment she has to learn to ride western!
but
wait, there's more!! Salpicardo was next to come out, this boy is so
much nicer in person than in photo's!! I love his colour!!! he just
looks rubbish in this pic!
he even still had his catalogue that comes in the boxes...
so
anyway, here's the lot that was in the big box!! (minus my guys I sent
up, these are just the ones that hitched a ride home!!!) forgot to take
a pic of just the wee white guy too, he's a body, another surprise!
he's a PS Pebbles WB...unsure what sort of clothes he wants at the
moment, but i'm loving his size!!!
and look what I noticed....WB and Journeyman are in the same sort of pose!!!
That's
all for now, but don't worry, I wont be too far away, I have the next 4
posts planned out already!!!! And then I'll have pics from the show in
Christchurch this weekend!! mwa hahahaha!!!
